I changed my website. First I was going for professional and serious, but now I felt I needed to have something a bit more risky and whimsical. I used the css 3d to create this subtle parallax effect. I also switched to static site, so now I don't have to pay a server 😋 It doesn't work well on mobile yet, though.

Went to record this outside. One generally thinks of the sound of trees as a soft thing. It turns out that tree leaves sound really loud!

Piezo preamplifier! Though I havent been able to remove the power supply hum, on battery it works beautifully. Now I can apply efects and record the sound in really good quality. Let's see if I manage to put something up on youtube. Ah, also I discovered that I can trigger the same note repeatedly like, really fast. It sounds super cool.

Finally working with the octatrack! It was working with everything I own, except the octatrack. It turns out, the octatrack was making things I haven't seen before: sending a note off followed by a not on, that skipped the header byte. I spent way too long trying to adapt my firmware to work with that.. after a very long time I realized that I could have just used the midi library. 🙈 Amazing how something simple like uart can offer so many complexities. Next stop will be sound amplification! It's going to be fun

at last is time to solder! This design is solenoid controller with port expander 😍. It means you can control some high power thing like a solenoid with an arduino or what not. You can control any quantity of them using 4 pins. The board edges have a connector that lets you put these in series up to any amount.

I revived the absurd dictionary. The code of the older one went obsolete. It's an experiment I did many years ago. Instead of telling you the meaning of a word, it makes you not understand the word any more by letting you hyper-define it. You might have to go out and experience things in order to recover from the experience. It doesn't have an awful lot of definitions, and in this revival there are a couple of bugs. If there's time, I might make improvements. If you want to suggest definitions, find the link to the repository in my website, or message me 😊

Got 60 strings, really cheap. Im not expecting good quality, only something to do experiments with, with the harp. The las time I snapped around 12 in one day. Anyways, strings sound always so beautiful, even if it's a rubber band. Hopefully the boards arrive soon so I can share a video of the completed project 😊

I often envy djs, because they can go to a venue with just the usb stick. So far it would take me at least 30 mimutes to setup my stuff. But not anymore! I assembled all this stuff into a portable suitcase that I can just open and play (well, except for the waldorf pulse there). It weighs more than enough to to f**k up my back though 😵
